Day 01
Early morning arrive in Delhi and transfer to hotel.
Sightseeing : QUTAB MINAR - HUMAYUN'S TOMB - RED FORT - RASHTRAPATI BHAVAN
- INDIA GATE...
NEW DELHI : New Delhi is the capital of India and its third-largest city. In Old Delhi
you will find many mosques, monuments and forts relating to India's Muslim history. The
other Delhi in New Delhi, the imperial city created as the capital of India by the
British. It is a spacious, open city and contains many embassies and government buildings.
Same day will be visited.
Day 02. Delhi - Leh. Overnight in hotel.
Early morning, transfer to the airport and flight to Leh, capital of Ladakh. Morning free
to adapt to the altitude. Leh is situated on the ancient route of silk and equally the
point of departure of spectacular trekkings that cross this remarkable region. The city is
situated at an altitude of 3505 m and has a warm and dry climate. Despite a difficult
lifestyle, the Ladakhi people are joyful and warm. Afternoon, visit of Leh: The Palace,
The bazaar and monasteries.
Day 03. Leh - Alchi: 130 km. Overnight in hotel.
Today will be a day to adapt to the altitude. After a brief contact with your motorcycle,
we will take a short ride to Alchi monastery.
Day 04. Alchi - Khardung La (5550 m)
- Alchi: 120 km. Overnight in hotel.
120 km return trip to Khardung La pass ( highest motorable road of the world ) subject to
weather conditions.
Day 05. Alchi - Hemis: 48 km. Overnight in camp.
Hemis monastery is the biggest one of this region. Enroute visit the famous Thiksey &
Shey gompas.
SHEY : Situated on a hillock 15km. upstream from Leh was once the residence of
the royal family . According to tradition, it was the seat of power of the pre-Tibetan
kings. A 7.5 meter high copper statue of Buddha, plated with gold, and the largest of its
kind is installed here.
THIKSE : Spectacularly sighted, Thikse is one of the largest and architecturally
most impressive Gompa. There are several temples in this Gompa, containing images stupas
and wall paintings of Buddha which are exquisite.
HEMIS : It is the wealthiest , best known and biggest Gompa of Ladakh. Its
popularity stems from the major annual festival held here in summer. The festival is in
honor of Guru Padma Sambhav's birth anniversary. It also has the largest Thanka in Ladakh,
which is unfurled once in 12 years ( next in 2004 )
Day 06. Hemis
- Tahglang La pass (5320 m) - Pang (105 km). Overnight in
camp.
Tahglang La pass is the 2nd highest pass of the world.
Day 07. Pang - Lachlung La pass (5060 m) - Sarchu
(110 Km). Overnight in camp.
We cross the border between Jammu & Kashmir state and Himachal Pradesh.
Day 08. Sarchu - Baralacha La (4860 m)
- Jispa: 105 km. Overnight in camp.
Day 09. Jispa - Rothang pass (4079 m) - Manali.
147 km. Overnight in hotel.
Day 10. Manali. Overnight in hotel.
Day of rest to explore this beautiful city and countryside.
Day 11. Manali - Mandi: 110 km. Overnight in hotel.
Mandi. Visit of the Palace, followed by a halt at the sacred lake of Rawalsar.
Day 12. Mandi - Shimla: 150 km. Overnight in hotel.
Shimla, a the town of British tradition. Founded in 1822, the town gained it's character
when the Vice king built his residence here. The houses of Shimla are still one on top of
the other like during the time of Kipling. A large number of churches and temples are a
must to see and they remind us of the former importance of the city.
Day 13. Shimla - Panipat: 260 km. Overnight in hotel.
Today we leave the mountains to descend and rejoin the plains.
Day 14. Panipat - Delhi: 90 km. Overnight in hotel.
Day 15. Delhi. Rest and shopping. Transfer to airport.
